Medical

Wednesday
Chris was sent home from school. He has impetigo on his chin and his nose. Only the impetigo has turned into a staph infection. He is taking oral antibiotics and can return to school on Friday.
Chris also has a fungus infection, we have been fighting this for some time. The doc prescribed an oral anti fungal, with a special cleansing scrub for the affected areas. The oral anti fungal is one that can mess with the liver so they ran some blood work, to make sure he will be fine to take it.
Chris had an amazing afternoon and evening, not fits not problem WOW!

Thursday
Doc called Chris's Liver count is high, discontinue oral antifungal, see prescribing doc for the ADHD and emotional problems.
Chris had another amazing day! No fits, no problems! Wow what an amazing day.

Friday
Went to see ADHD/ Emotional problems doc. Ran more bloodwork, to confirm Liver numbers. Going to discontinue one of his meds until next week. We go back on Thursday to get the lab results. At that time they will decide if the numbers really aren't that high and he can continue back on the same meds or if we need to find a different medicine that doesn't affect the liver. He has had another amazing morning. I fed him lunch and Roger took him to school.
These meds were really working great for him, so we will see how the liver is doing and where we go from here.

Summer Plans
Bobby and I came up with a summer reading list. His goal is to read 10 books on the list (there are 46 books on the list to choose from) before we go back to school in August. This may sound like a lot, but he is a really good reader and is very fast and he loves it. Roger and I are still working on the reward for all his good summer reading. But there will also be a bonus for any books he reads above the 10 required!

Bobby and Bekah will be participating in the summer reading programs at the library. Bekah will be in the 3-5 storytime and craft group. She will be dropped off for 30 minutes one day a week. Bobby will go to an Explorer group for 3rd-5th graders. They will have discussions over required reading. They will also do some crafts. He will go for an hour one day a week. Both programs are 6 weeks long. Both are very excited about going.

Chris is now signed up at the YMCA for the summer day camp. He is getting excited about that. He will do some crafts, swimming, reading and group sports and activities. It will provide the structure and stability that he needs to continue to thrive and do well. He will be going all but one week of his summer. That week is over the 4th of July. We will go and spend time with grandparents and family. That will also be a really fun week.

My personal goal for this summer is to go to the gym 2-3 days a week. I am thinking Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. We go to the YMCA. They have a nursery area for the girls to go play. They have a youth workout room for Bobby and a great workout spot for mom. We have been members since January and love it. I didn't make it to the gym this week. Some weeks are like that.

Break from School

We have been on break a week, I am really enjoying it. It is so peaceful to know I don't have papers to grade, or lessons to plan. I really didn't think I would enjoy it this much. I love spending time with the kids. Bobby loves to have discussions, and the girls love to do puzzles and color. And if Mom is willing and able to help that is even better!

Grocery Store

Going to put the girls down for a nap then going to finish up my office stuff and prep for the grocery store. I usually go on Friday mornings, but that didn't work out this morning.
Roger will be gone all day tomarrow, he is running an election. It is a lot of work to take everyone and do 2 weeks worth of shopping, so I am not thinking tomarrow is an option. Sunday is Mother's Day and Roger's birthday, so that would not be a good day either. I am almost thinking tonight, maybe after the little ones are in bed? I hate going on Friday evenings. The store is always busier, but sometimes that is just what you've got to do.
That was a wonderful phone call. My dear sweet friend that usually keeps kids on Friday mornings. She called and asked if I would like to go this afternoon and she would keep my kids. Wow I feel so blessed. I need to get ready to go shopping.
