My trash to treasure!

The last couple of days I have been using my sewing machine a lot. I have made curtains for the living room, dining room, school room, the kitchen, and the laundry room.

I had a project tucked away for a long time. The quilt my grandmother made when I was a baby was falling apart. I loved it and used it and abused it as a child. I wanted to keep a part of it, but it has turned into such a ratty mess over the years. So I decided to modify it a bit. I cut a portion of the middle of the quilt that was still in somewhat decent shape. I then put a back on it . I pulled the backing around and sewed it to the front of the quilt. I then made several seams running across it to help hold it together ( where it is fraying). I have turned a very worn out quilt into a table runner for my coffee table in my living room. This way I can still enjoy the quilt that my grandmother made for me, with out it getting any more torn up.

Knowing my grandmother she would be proud that I found a new use for an old , worn out quilt!
