I love long weekends. We have been so productive this weekend. First of all the house is clean so that gives us time to get other jobs we have been putting off for a while.
On Saturday we did a lot of yard work. We trimmed all the trees, mowed the grass and weed eated. We also clean all the broken or out grown toys from the back yard. We also got rid of both swing sets as they were no longer safe for the kids to play on. They were just plain worn out. We cleaned up the side patio, and the back patio. My yard looks huge at the moment. But it is such a wonderful feeling to have all of it done!
Today Roger, Chris and I did the grocery shopping. This is usually a large endeavor since we have a large family, but frankly we haven't done a throughal grocery shopping since the beginning of summer. So this trip was especially large. It took us a couple of hours of shopping, then another hour or so to get everything put away. But again if feels really good to have all of that done.
I have also started replacing the drawer pulls in our kitchen. I only bought a few to make sure that it was what we wanted. They are a brushed silver... they look awesome. Now I know what to get when I go to get the rest of them! We are going to paint the cabinents a crisp white and the walls the warm yellow from the rest of the house. I am tired of cleaning and getting ready to paint. I just want to skip to the painting part and be done. I am still cleaning and will be for a while, as my time is limited to work on this project. I would like to get it painted before the holidays though.
The next project on the list is my laundry room.... I think I am going to knock a closet out and make for more open storage. Then I am going to use the same warm yellow from the rest of the house and bring it into there as well. It will really brighten the house up and make it so much more friendly.
When I get around to curtains they will match throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. I am so excited about the finished product, but the hardest about painting is the prepping. I will update more on that later.
Have a wonderful week and God Bless
