School update

I am so excited some of our fall curriculum came in today. I love getting things ready for the next year. I received my Oklahoma History and my Texas History for Bobby.. I also got Bekah's handwriting! I will be adding to Oklahoma History with a series that I watched in Oklahoma History as a Jr High kid! I finally figured out the name of it and where to get it! I am looking for a good dvd series about Texas History. He will be putting together a notebook for each course. We are doing Oklahoma history first semester. And Texas History 2nd semester. We chose these two because we currently live in Texas, but My family all lives in Oklahoma. So we are going to do a full year of state history. I am also looking for guitar lessons that are affordable for Bobby. Any thoughts or ideas please let me know.

Through a long process we have decided that Chris does better in public school. It provides the extra structure that he needs to thrive. It has been a very prayerful journey to come to this conclusion. I had really wanted to home school him this fall, but that is not going to work out. He was pulled from Public in April with the intend of homeschooling to finish out the school year and to work through summer , and decide if it were possible to keep him home this fall. As I said this has been a really long process. I feel confident in my decision to put him back in public. They are better quipped to handle his special learning needs.

This summer we are working on reading with Bekah, I found "hooked on phonics" at a garage sale earlier in the summer. She has already read 8 books in the first set! She is doing really awesome. Bobby will be continuing with his grammar and his math this summer. And Chris will be working on his handwriting and grammar. Sarah loves to color and play in the school room.
