Friday's update on School

I will recap the week..........

Bobby

English - We are studying verbs

Reading - Bobby is working his way through I Sam for Bible Bowl ; he has study questions that go with each chapter. He will do chapter 6 today.

History - Bobby is doing a book that is about the early settlers to North America. It is heavy on the reading comprehension, which he is struggling with. This is a gap filller until we can get a book that we really like.

Science - He is studying the muscles, bones and organs of the human body.

Keyboarding - He is learning to type, We are working on the basics and the home row.

Math - Multiplication of larger multipliers, and multiplying by 10's

Spelling - We are on word list # 4 , he does the worksheets that my mother prepared, and works on knowing the definitions.

I wasn't planning on starting anything with her until she was at least 4! However this week she was looking at a sign, she pointed to the letters "stop" and said that it said stop. I realized that she is recognizing her letters and decided to go with it. I made a game for her to help her learn the ones she is having trouble with. I put all the letters out on the table upside down. She picks on tells me the letter and the sound. She knows most of them already! She is having fun with it and is also learning. She is always pretending to sign her name to things. So I wrote it out for her and had her trace it a couple of times. Within 5 minutes she could write her name without help!!!! She loves to write her name, and spell it correctly.
