Christmas

This time of year seems so stressful and harsh. Everyone running here and there to get everything done. I guess we are the exception to that. We used to be that way. About the time that Sarah was born and we started homeschooling, we really slowed our pace! What a blessing that has been! We spend time together as a family and have fun doing it. We make holiday treats. The kids decorate the tree. It is just so much more peaceful. We still travel at the holidays, but since we are not so crazed all month even that is more enjoyable for us. We limit the amount of activities that we participate in, that doesn't involve the whole family.

We have very few holiday traditions, but the ones that we have are worth it. We pick a night, we eat sandwiches in the car, and we spend the evening driving all over looking at the Beautiful Christmas lights. We end the evening with either Hot chocolate or chocolate ice cream, depending on the weather. We listen to Christmas music and talk about all the displays. The kids really love it! I am really looking forward to this year, every time we get in the van to go somewhere at night all 4 kids talk about the lights and how they want to see more.

We also open gifts together and laugh and play together.

I am really enjoyed this Christmas season. It looks like winter today which definitely helps it to feel more like Christmas
