The Joy of the Lord is my Strength!

Today is a new day! The sun is shining! The birds are singing! I slept great for the first time in the last week! Bekah woke up completely dry this morning. She got me up about 4 to take her to the potty. (the light was off). She did awsome! Now if we can keep this up that would be incredible! I know it is the little things that delight me so.

My plan for the day is to get the fridge scrubbed out now that it has thawed so that when the repairman come there will be minimal cleaning left after he leaves. I will be going to the store this evening to replace the lost food. Oh well. Life goes on.

I am reading this book called "The Velveteen Mommy". She talks about her trials and tribulations as a mom. She is funny, and yet knows to look to God. She told a story that she was going through a tough time and she begged God for some JOY. Went through the day not finding it. In late afternoon she she was cleaning in the bathroom and found it. it was on her shirt. Early in the day her 3 year had watched Mr Rogers Neighborhood. They were making nametags. So Mr. Rogers made one that said you for the tv viewers. So her son had made one with his name on it and then made everyone else in the family ones that said you. In the mirror you spelled backwards looks like JOY. I thought it was a really cute and fitting story for my life. "The Joy of the Lord is my Strength" Nehemiah 8:10. I needed reminded that there is Joy in everything God Created.

Today I am looking for the Joy in things and not the work of stress of it.
